F.A.Q
What is the Women’s Union?
The Pomona College Women’s Union is here to provide a safe space for people of all genders. The WU is a chill, quiet place to study — we have comfy couches, lots of pillows, cool stuff to read, current magazines, yoga mats, craft supplies, and even snuggies!
What is feminism?
Feminism is the belief that women should have equal political, social, sexual, intellectual and economic rights. Feminism is not man-bashing or anti-men, it’s pro-women and the belief that equality for women will benefit all genders.
Why do we have/need a Women’s Union?
We are here to promote discourse and provide support for all students and members of our community. Although we are facing a different set of issues than our founders, we are interested in examining the evolution of feminisms in a personal, conceptual, and historical context, and we seek to actively engage the campus through our many programs and events. We have a Women’s Union because of the initiative of former Pomona students, and we’ve maintained the WU since then because of student interest and demand.
Are men allowed in the WU?
Yes, the WU strives to provide a safe space for people of all genders.
What are the WU’s hours?
The WU is open Sun-Thurs from 4-11pm and 12-7pm on Fridays and Saturdays.
